Using the Directory
The Directory is divided into two main sections:
Major UK Companies and Advisers & Suppliers of Services
Top ^
Major UK Companies & Organisations
The main section of The Marketing Manager’s Yearbook 2008 contains an alphabetical list of 10,300 major
UK companies. A sample entry showing all the information included within these entries can be seen on the sample entries page.
The main criteria for an entry is a minimum of 100 employees with a designated marketing post
holder and/or a marketing budget of over £100,000. It may be the case that subsidiary companies with a
reasonably high number of employees are listed under the parent company entry as the marketing function
is centralised there. Wherever possible, subsidiary companies are listed under their own entry.
This section is of principal interest to:
Marketing managers who wish to contact the marketing departments of other major UK companies
Suppliers, job seekers or researchers wishing to identify specific individuals in the marketing department
Researchers looking to gain an insight into the marketing function in major UK companies.
Because of the volume of information within the book, three key indexes are contained at the end of this
section. These enable users to identify major companies by:
Geographical Region - by county
Business Activity - by industry. This also indicates the number of companies per listed industry at the
beginning of each category
Marketing Contacts - lists contact names by surname who have either director- manager or senior level marketing
respsonsibility.
